Harborites, prepare for another British invasion to hit town this weekend!

Yes, the All British Field Meet and Autojumble returns to Safety Harbor this Saturday, October 25, as hundreds of classic and contemporary vehicles from across the pond turn the downtown district into a mini Trafalgar Square.

The free event takes place from 10am – 3pm, and in addition to the wide variety of cool automobiles, it will feature a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, food, drink and merchandise vendors, live entertainment and spectators voting for their favorite vehicles.

Sponsored by the Tampa Bay Austin Healey Club, the All British car show is now in 28th year in the Tampa Bay area, and it has been held in Safety Harbor for the better part of the past decade.

According to TBAHC president Bill Borja, the event organizers, sponsors and participants all believe downtown Safety Harbor makes an ideal backdrop for the show.

“Safety Harbor has a reputation for being a quaint community,” Borja told Safety Harbor Connect.com.

Classic cars line Main Street in downtown Safety Harbor for the annual All British car show.

“So to bring these old cars in and line the street, where people can stroll and shop and eat and walk up and down and look at the cars, it’s the perfect location or our show.”

The “All Brit” show is always one of the most popular events on the city’s calendar, in part due to the mid-fall scheduling and in part due to the types of vehicles that are featured.

Instead of the usual collection of muscle cars and luxury exotics, the autojumble is made up of many timeless, and tiny, examples of unique British craftsmanship.

“These cars have appeal to people of all ages,” Borja explained, “but they’re especially popular with older people, those who grew up seeing them on the street in their heyday. That’s a big part of the appeal of this show.”

Borja said another example of the event’s popularity is the reception he received from local merchants when he was in town promoting the show recently.

“All the merchants I spoke to while handing out information were very enthusiastic about us coming again this year,” he said.

“It was very rewarding to me to see how welcome we are in town.”

Lotus will be the featured mark at this year's autojumble.

The featured marque this year is the Lotus, so look for the sleek British sports cars to have a prominent presence in the show.

Also, don’t forget to stick around until the end of the show, where all the award winners, including the People’s Choice, will be announced at the Gazebo.

Coming on the heels of last year’s incredibly successful show, Borja believes, with some cooperation from Mother Nature, the event should draw another big crowd this year.

“We’re hoping for good weather like we had last year,” he said.

“If the weather is good, I think we will bring a lot of people to downtown.”
