Safety Harbor Pier Reopens
Good news for those who love to frequent the Safety Harbor waterfront – the marina pier is back open to the public.
The city had to close the picturesque spot that juts into the bay earlier this week in order to repair a split in one of its pilings.
The work was originally expected to last a couple of weeks and be completed sometime in early December.
But crews worked extra hard to get the pier fixed and reopened before the Thanksgiving week, and after just one day down, their mission was accomplished.
Here is part of the official press release from the city:
The Pier has been repaired and we have opened it back up to pedestrians.
Kudos to Advanced Marine for changing / shifting their scheduled to get the Pier repaired in advanced of the upcoming Holiday week. They have also repaired the two “leaning” channel marker pilings as new ones were not required.
With the pier now opened again, there’s no better time to head on down and check out the beautiful scenery in that area of town!
