Johnny Lowery with the Caladesi Steel Band will perform The Sounds of Steel at the Safety Harbor Public Library on Thursday, June 30, 6:30 pm. Interspersed amongst Calypso music and performance, Johnny will discuss the steel drum, its styles, sounds, and genre.

Lowery performs weddings and other events as JLowery Steel and has been a member of the Caladesi Steel Band for 25+ years. He has performed with Busch Garden’s Steel Drum Band, is an original member of the Tampa Bay Steel Orchestra and performed at events all over Florida, including the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, the Mahaffey Theater, Ruth Eckerd Hall, the Palladium, and other venues across the country.
