A 9,0000-square-foot home on Philippe Parkway in Safety Harbor reportedly sold for $6.875 million on Friday.

According to reports, the home at 2600 Philippe Parkway sits on 10 acres of land and has six bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a four car garage and a 300-foot dock that juts out into Old Tampa Bay.

The home was reportedly sold by owners Kung-Ti and Wen-Ying Sung Yen, who paid $750,000 for the lot in 1998, according to Pinellas County property records.

The Safety Harbor home was built in 2002.

According to the property listing, the home “enjoys breathtaking water views as floor-to-ceiling glass frames expansive outdoor entertaining areas, a gracious terrace, resort-style pool, spa…and a 300-foot dock.”

Home sales have been on the rise throughout the Tampa Bay area in the past year, with a number of high-dollar mansions coming off the market.

“This is the fifth home in Safety Harbor to sell for more than $1 million in the last six months. Although it’s been a strong seller’s market for more than a year, for a home in that price range (7 million dollars) to sell in less than five months is much faster than normal so I believe it really shows that Safety Harbor has something unique to offer that is desirable at all price points”, explains Micaela Morenz, Realtor with Blake Real Estate.

While the buyer was not disclosed, reports floating around had legendary actor John Travolta purchasing the pricey property.

Travolta was in the Clearwater area last week, having been spotted at the Countryside Mall skating rink with his wife, actress Kelly Preston.

Safety Harbor Connect is working to learn the identity of the new owner, and we will have more details on this story as they become available.
