Meet New York Times Bestselling Author – Paula McLain

Paula McLain author of the New York Times and international bestseller, The Paris Wife, will discuss her latest book, Circling the Sun at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa on Friday, January 26, 7:30 PM. Tickets are $35. Tickets to a private reception to meet Ms. McLain at 6:30 pm prior to the main event are $75. Proceeds benefit the Safety Harbor Library Foundation’s 20/20 Vision, Let’s Build a Story capital campaign.

The community is invited to read Circling the Sun as part of the Library Foundation’s One Book, One Community Read beginning in November. Book discussions, a film, and other events, culminating in meeting the author in January can be found on www.SafetyHarborLibraryFoundation.org.

Ms. McLain, a California native, was abandoned by parents as a child. She and her two sisters became wards of the California Court System, living in foster homes for fourteen years. When she aged out of the system, she supported herself by working various jobs before discovering she could (and very much wanted to) write. She received her MFA in poetry from the University of Michigan in 1996. She is also the author of two collections of poetry; a memoir, Like Family, Growing up in Other People’s Houses; and her first novel, A Ticket to Ride. She lives with her family in Cleveland.
