Safety Harbor Library Foundation Announces Winter Fundraisers
The Safety Harbor Library Foundation announces two events to raise awareness and funding for their 20/20 Vision – Let’s Build a Story capital campaign to assist in the building of a second floor, state-of-the-art community room at the library.
On Thursday, January 31, jazz vocalist Christiana Drapkin and the La Lucha Band returns to the Safety Harbor Library with a performance, Straighten Up & Fly Straight, a joyous romp through jazz standards. Doors open with light refreshments at 6:30 pm, show time 7:00 PM. Jazz vocalist Christiana Drapkin has been performing in New York and on the East Coast for over twenty years. She is noted for her lyrical and highly personal delivery of ballads and artful scat improvisations. Christiana’s roots are deeply immersed in the rich traditions of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae. La Lucha was named Best Local Jazz Ensemble runner-up in the 2018 Best of the Bay awards.
A mini-golf, pub crawl, Links for our Library, is set for Saturday, February 9, 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Registration begins at 3:30 PM at the Gazebo, 401 Main Street. Experience nine holes of fun at local restaurants and pubs, followed by a back nine after party at Coastal Cantina (519 2nd Avenue S.), where fabulous prizes will be awarded at 8:00 PM.
