A Japanese storytelling performance of Origami Tales is set for Thursday, May 31, 6:00 pm at the Safety Harbor Public Library.
Performed by Kuniko Yamamoto, Origami Tales provides a magical entry into ancient Japanese culture of mythical characters, flowers, and dragons with origami. Trained in dance and the traditional arts in Japan, Kuniko will use traditional music, handcrafted masks and characters, stylized movement, and a touch of magic to create an artistic balance of illusion and reality. The performance will conclude with a short origami workshop to give the audience hands on experience in the Japanese art of folding paper.
